BEE-FRIENDLY HONEY
Common, unethical practices within commercial bee farming include over-harvesting, wing clipping, artificial insemination and chemical treatments - all contributing to poor standards of bee welfare, weakened colony health and am inferior quality honey.
At The WilderKitchen, we do things differently. WilderBee Hot Honey products are all crafted with an ethically farmed, single-source, organic wildflower honey, that puts our pollinators wellbeing first.
The bees that produce our honey live on land planted with acres of wildflowers and are kept free from synthetic pesticides and antibiotics. They live with the lightest of human interference through an organic way of farming, and we never take more of their precious honey than we need, leaving plenty of their own reserves to sustain them through winter.
That’s why we can proudly call our honey ‘Bee-friendly’. We believe that happy, healthy bees make the best honey - which we hope you’ll agree when you try our hot honey for yourself!
CHILLIES ROOTED IN PURPOSE
Our scotch bonnet chillies are proudly grown in Rwanda, where we focus on not only giving back to the land, but also to the workers who help us to grow these incredible chillies.
Here workers are paid well above the national wage, provided with free education for their children, and supported in engaging with the national Peacebuilding Education Programme - a local initiative that helps local communities to learn to work together, rebuild trust, and strengthen their relations after conflict.
To help offset emissions in shipping product to the UK, the farm has expanded to plant Agave and other natural carbon-absorbing plants that help to offset, while supporting local biodiversity.

Sustainability doesn’t stop at the ingredients.
That’s why our bottles are made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, designed to be recycled again and again. This introduces a circular packaging system that keeps plastic in use and out of nature, by giving existing materials a second life instead of creating new waste.
By choosing products packed into 100% PCR, you are reducing the demand for virgin plastic, lowering your carbon footprint, and supporting the recycling economy.
